Tiyatro Ak'la Kara

At Akyıldız Passage on Bahariye Street in Kadıköy, there is a theater that has been operating since 2011: Tiyatro Ak'la Kara. The hall hosts the company's own productions, while visiting companies also use the stage. The hall has 159 seats; red-upholstered seats are arranged in rows facing the stage, and in the front row there are separate chairs placed right against the stage. The stage is approximately 12 meters wide and 3.5 meters deep, offering a wide, horizontal frame. The hall's small scale allows young audience members at children's shows to see the performers up close. The nostalgic tram line runs down the middle of Bahariye Street, and the stop is a few minutes' walk away. Kadıköy ferry pier and Kadıköy M4 metro station are about 700 meters away; Altıyol and Moda are also within walking distance. Cafés, bookshops and pastry shops line the street, making it easy to grab something before the show. After the show, walking with children along the main street toward the ferry pier is also convenient.
