Halis Kurtça Çocuk Kültür Merkezi

The Halis Kurtça Children's Culture Center, on Ressam Salih Ermez Caddesi in Merdivenköy Neighborhood, Kadıköy, is a children-only cultural center run by Kadıköy Municipality. The building opened in 1999 as a general culture center. After it became known for children's theater, it was entirely reorganized for children and reopened in its current form on January 20, 2018. The program includes children's plays, concerts, ballet, film screenings, and workshops. Performances take place in the Main Hall, which seats about 150. The seats, upholstered in different colors, are arranged in tiers, which makes it easier for young audiences to see the stage. The stage, 7 meters wide and 6.3 meters deep, suits the scale of the hall. Common areas and display fixtures are also designed for children's height. Alongside the Main Hall, there is a dance studio, an art studio, and a multipurpose hall. The nearest rail station is Göztepe on the M4 Kadıköy–Sabiha Gökçen line. The center is about 900 meters away, a 10–15 minute walk at a relaxed pace. Since Göztepe station on Marmaray is a little more than one kilometer away, a short transfer by taxi or bus is more practical for those coming from there.
