Beylikdüzü Atatürk Kültür ve Sanat Merkezi (BAKSM)

BAKSM, with its façade on Atatürk Boulevard, is a cultural center of approximately 25,000 square meters owned by Beylikdüzü Municipality. It reopened in November 2018 after a comprehensive renovation. The 700-seat performance hall on the ground floor hosts theater plays and concerts. The building also houses a library with a capacity of 55,000 books, a 380-square-meter exhibition hall, the Rıfat Ilgaz Museum of Educational History, and a cinema hall. In the performance hall, 497 seats are in the stalls and 203 seats are in the balcony. During the renovation, the hall's soundproofing and acoustics were overhauled. There are five dressing rooms beside the stage, and the LED screen in the foyer also allows the event on stage to be watched from outside. The Adile Naşit Children's Library, with 5,500 books for ages 0–6, is in the same building, providing an additional stop before the show for families coming with children. The Beylikdüzü Belediye and Cumhuriyet Mahallesi metrobus stops are about 1.5 kilometers from the center; a short transfer by taxi or bus is needed after getting off. The cafés and bookstore in the building are suitable for sitting before the show. The ground-floor book café overlooks Atatürk Boulevard and is a good corner for having a cup of tea and browsing books before the curtain rises.
