Akatlar Kültür Merkezi

Akatlar Cultural Center, located at Zeytinoğlu Street No:16 in the Akatlar district of Etiler, is one of the cultural and arts buildings run by the Beşiktaş Municipality. The Melih Cevdet Anday Stage, where performances take place, seats 300. In addition to theatre plays, the building also hosts exhibitions, dance, and education activities. A 550-square-meter exhibition and performance hall, a cocktail hall, and the course classrooms of the Beşiktaş Public Education Center are all under the same roof. The most distinctive feature of the hall is its layout: red upholstered seats are arranged in tiered rows that curve around the round-edged wooden stage in a semicircle. In this arrangement, the audience surrounds the stage from the front and sides, and even the back row, in a hall of 300 seats, is not very far from the stage. The café in the building is suitable for a short break before the show or during an intermission. The Etiler station on the M6 Levent–Boğaziçi University/Hisarüstü line is about 850 meters away, and the walk to the center takes around ten minutes. Akmerkez is about 400 meters away and Sanatçılar Park about 300 meters, so there are many options nearby for shopping or dining before a performance. The building's covered, paid parking lot makes things easier for those arriving by car.
